BIOGRAPHY

    Alge Julija was born in Vilnius 1992. When she was 5 years old she started to attend J.Stauskaite Art School of Youth. She continued her studies in J.Vienozinskis School of Art, where she realised, that she is interested in field of printmaking, she received printmaking diploma with honors and continued her education in National M.K.Ciurlionis School of Art, where she got high education diploma in Arts department. Soon after graduation she started Bachelour studies in Finnish University of Arts/Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki during which she made the one year exchange study in Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Israel, where she was introduced into glass blowing techniques and got University offer to continue her studies there. With broken heart she returned to Finland to her Alma Mater and went to Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki to continue her education in glass. She decided to get a professional degree in glassblowing at Tavastia Vocational College in Historical Nuutajarvi Glass Village. She completed her professional degree in glassblowing in Finnish language and got her apprenticeship at Aalto University School of Arts. At the moment she completed her Master degree in Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts, Helsinki in Printmaking department. Her Master Thesis: Illuminated Table became a part of Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art Library collection, while her Master work Evening Breakfast is in permanent Paavo and Päivi Lipponen Foundation collection. During her years in Finland and Israel Alge Julija collaborated and worked for international clients in the field of design and fine art: Markku Salo, Kirsti Taiviola, Camilla Moberg, Anu Penttinen, Yasha Cyrinsky.

    Her works have been featured in Royal Academy of Fine Arts “KoMASK Masters Printmaking 2019“ in Antwerp. Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in exhibition dedicated to Contemporary art from the Baltic Sea region: “There and Back Again” 2018, Helsinki. In Vilnius town Hall at “World Lithuanian Artists Exhibition” dedicated to 100th Anniversary of Lithuanian Independency 2018. “Finland 100 year Päivi and Paavo Lipponen Foundation Collection Exhibition” at Salon Dahlmann 2017, Berlin. National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts “International Biennial Print Exhibit: 2016 ROC“ in Taichung.
